How does it work? Where and how do I install it?

End of the Caplis System on March 31 Hauliers, it is time to act. Subscribe now to the Passango e-tag.

Passango, why and how?

Your Passango device is self-powered and exchanges information with a beacon placed in the toll lanes, such as your vehicle’s point of entry, point of exit, registration number, Euro emission standard and other characteristics used by motorway operators in Europe, thereby enabling you to pass through the toll booth in less time. This information exchange takes just a few tenths of a second and replaces the need for a ticket and bank card.

Passango e-tags are available to and can be used by all HGV users, whether or not they are CAPLIS card users.

As your Passango is unique to your vehicle registration number, it may not be used by another vehicle. Checks will be made at the toll booth.

When your Passango expires (expiry date is indicated on the label), you must return it to your fleet manager in order to obtain a new one.

Passango, how do I install it?

Your Passango must be placed inside your vehicle and fitted to the bottom of your windscreen in the centre.

None of your vehicle’s equipment (mirror, windscreen wipers, GPS, etc.) should interfere with the exchanges between your electronic device and the beacons in the toll booths.

Step by step installation:

  • When you pass through a toll booth for the first time, test the positioning of your electronic toll card on the windscreen without removing the adhesive strip.
  • Check that the desired area of your windscreen is clean and dry.
  • Carefully remove the cover over the holder’s adhesive strip.
  • Stick the holder to the windscreen and press firmly for a few seconds.
  • Place your Passango in its holder.
